ICAT conducted a Placement Orientation Program for the UG and PG students of VFX, at the Chennai campus on 18th of March, 2014. The seminar was led by an independent VFX Producer, Mrs. Asmita Madhu who is recognized for her collaborative projects with Senior VFX Supervisor and industry veteran, Mr. Madhusudhanan. Some of their noteworthy projects include Gullivers Travel, In Time, Vishwaroopam and the forthcoming sequel Vishwaroopam 2.
The session commenced with an overview of the 3D and VFX industry, followed by a presentation on the VFX breakdown in Gullivers Travel and Vishwaroopam. Asmita further shared her industry experience towards the Placement Orientation session, providing career guidance to students by outlining the industry hierarchy, its expectations and showreel development. The session concluded with an open session, where Asmita answered to several queries thereby giving students a good exposure of the current industry trends.
